If you’ve ever looked at a pile of craft supplies sitting in your closet since 2020 and thought, “Someone could make something amazing with this”. Or if you’re like me and want to try every creative hobby then Raccoon Craft is about to become your new favorite spot.
Located in Marion Village, Raccoon Craft is a creative treasure hunt where sustainability meets imagination. Instead of perfectly good materials ending up in a landfill, they find a second life in the hands of artists, makers, teachers, students, and curious crafters. You never know what you’ll discover on the shelves.
When I started getting back into sewing I knew I didn’t want to spend 30 dollars on a yard fabric right out of the gate and I have never had luck at the thrift store. I believe I’m cursed by the thrift gods but that is another story. A quick search of reddit and I learned a creative use store opened up near us and I had to go check it out.
They have a large selection of fabrics and yarns in the center of the store. If you see something you like, you’d better grab it because things move quickly. I’ve seen sewing machines, sergers, and even looms. Keep an eye on their Instagram to see what interesting items come through the door. The last time I visited, they had received a donation of about 3,000 patterns, and that is not an exaggeration. I have seen various type of paint stamps and even clay tools for sale.
If you’re looking to learn something new, keep an eye on their class offerings. From hands-on workshops to creative skill-building opportunities, there’s something for crafters of all experience levels. They offer staple classes like quilting and knitting, but there are also opportunities to try something completely new. Have you ever wanted to learn how to make yarn? Try their Drop Spindle class. Not into fiber arts? Consider making your own stamp in their Linocut class or giving mixed-media journaling a shot.
While I haven’t taken a class yet, I’ve overheard some of the sessions in progress, and everyone seemed to be having a hoot. One cool thing to see is Craft Raccoon’s dedication to making classes affordable for the community. If you need financial aid they offer discounted rates. I’m definitely going to sign up for one as soon as my schedule allows.

While you’re there, don’t miss the fact that they’re connected to a yarn store. It’s basically a two-for-one crafting adventure and another excellent opportunity to leave with more supplies than you planned.
I have to point out there is no parking lot but there is ample street parking.
