Storyline is an independent, woman-owned bookstore in Upper Arlington. It may look unassuming from the outside, but much like a good fantasy novel, it’s bigger on the inside. There are plenty of nooks and crannies to explore as you hunt for your next great read.
As you enter the store, you’re greeted by a wall of book recommendations and information about upcoming book clubs. A large window in the middle of the shop lets in plenty of natural light and adds a lot of character to the space. The store also has a sizable selection of books across a variety of genres, making it easy to leave with more books than you originally planned. (Ask me how I know.)
I’ve had the privilege of attending an author Q&A and several of their monthly book clubs. If you’re looking for a book club that actually talks about the book, this is the place for you. The discussions are engaging, and the moderators come prepared with thoughtful questions that help spark meaningful conversations. Whether you’re into sci-fi, fantasy, literary fiction, or the delightfully named “No Plot, Just Vibes”, there’s likely a club for you. In addition to book clubs, Storyline hosts plenty of other events, including book swaps, bingo nights, trivia, and author appearances.
What to Know Before You Go
Storyline is located in a strip mall, so parking is plentiful and easy to find. Before your visit, check the event calendar to see what’s happening in the store, you might stumble into your next favorite book club, author event, or community gathering.
Final Thoughts
Storyline has cultivated a warm and welcoming community that shines through at every event they host. Whether you’re an avid reader, an occasional book buyer, or someone who just enjoys being surrounded by people who love stories, Storyline is well worth a visit. Just don’t be surprised if you walk in for one book and leave with three. It happens to the best of us.
